Bella Giornata - Beautiful Day

“Daydream, I fell asleep amid the flowers, for a couple of hours, on a beautiful day..”

That is the song that I heard in my mind as I was painting this summery beauty. I imagined looking up to a clear blue sky, tall stems of luscious greens and pops of colour all around me.

I want you to look at this painting and think of what Summer feels, sounds, and even smells and tastes like. For me, it feels like friends are near, sounds like that late evening birdsong, tastes like an indulgent ice cream, and smells like freshly cut grass and barbecues.
